Do giá vàng liên tục tăng mạnh, từ chiều qua, cảnh tượng xếp hàng đi bán vàng lại tái diễn trên phố Trần Nhân Tông của Hà Nội. Ngay đầu giờ giao dịch sáng nay, số khách bán vàng tại các tiệm kim hoàn trên phố này đã rất đông.

Kết thúc phiên giao dịch lúc rạng sáng nay theo giờ Việt Nam, giá vàng giao ngay tại thị trường New York tăng 14 USD/oz (1,4%) so với giá chốt phiên liền trước, đạt 984,5 USD/oz.

Giá vàng giao kỳ hạn tháng 4 tại Sở Giao dịch Hàng hóa New York (NYMEX) kết thúc ngày giao dịch trước đó ít giờ ở mức 978,2 USD/oz, tăng 10,7 USD/oz (1,1%).

Trong phiên giao dịch, đã có lúc giá vàng giao ngay tiến sát ngưỡng 990 USD/oz, trong khi giá vàng kỳ hạn vượt mức 980 USD/oz, cao nhất từ giữa tháng 7/2008 trở lại đây.

Trái với xu thế bán vàng ra ồ ạt của giới đầu tư trong nước, các nhà đầu tư vàng quốc tế đang không ngừng đẩy mạnh mua vào kim loại quý này. Lượng vàng do quỹ SPDR Gold Trust - quỹ đầu tư vàng lớn nhất thế giới - nắm giữ, đã thiết lập kỷ lục mới là 1.088,8 tấn vào ngày 17/2.
